How long are your sessions?
An individual psychotherapy session last 30 or 45 minutes.
How does the therapy process begin? How long does therapy go on for?
The first step is to schedule an initial consultation which usually takes one to two 1-hour appointments. During the initial consultation, we will discuss what brings you to seek therapy. Every therapy relationship has its own pacing and timeline.
Where is your office?
I am currently offering services virtually.
What are your hours?
I conduct sessions from Sundays through Fridays. If you call me, I’ll get back to you in as timely a manner as possible. Evening calls may not be returned until the next day.
What are your fees? What if I have to cancel?
My fees are in line with those of other private practitioners in New York and Washington, D.C., and are payable by Venmo or Zelle at the time of treatment. Cancelled sessions need to be paid for, although I will make every effort to reschedule within the same week, if that’s possible.
Will my insurance cover my treatment costs?
I provide treatment on an out-of-network basis, which is often covered in part by insurance companies. I may be able to offer in-network care. You should contact your insurer to ask if you have coverage. I can also provide monthly statements of your therapy charges for you to submit directly along with your claims.
Is treatment tax-deductible?
Costs for therapy and transportation to and from sessions often qualify as tax deductions. Contact your tax advisor or the IRS.
Is patient information confidential?
A sense of security is essential to successful therapy. I'm not required to routinely divulge sensitive information about my patients.
